Agave ‘Sho-Time’ Hybrid

from $224.99

Agave ‘Sho-Time’ Hybrid – Queen Vic x Whale’s Tongue

Agave ‘Sho-Time’ Hybrid, a dazzling cross between the regal Queen Victoria Agave (A. victoriae-reginae) and the robust Whale’s Tongue Agave (A. ovatifolia). This striking succulent forms a tight, symmetrical rosette of broad, powdery blue-green leaves, growing 1.5-2 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide. Each leaf blends the Queen’s white-striped elegance with the Whale’s chunky texture, edged with small, sharp spines that hint at its wild side—perfect for adding a touch of desert dazzle to any space.

Care Snapshot:

•  Sun: Full sun is its stage—6+ hours daily to bring out its blue hue and sturdy form. Light shade works but may soften its look.

•  Water: Drought-ready—water deeply every 2-3 weeks in summer, letting soil dry out completely. In winter, water sparingly or skip it.

•  Soil: Loves well-drained soil—cactus mix or sandy gravel keeps its roots thriving and rot-free.

Ideal for rock gardens, xeriscapes, or bold containers, this hybrid shines in USDA zones 7b-10b, handling dry cold to 0°F (-18°C)—protect from wet freezes. After 10-15 years, mature plants may send up a 4-6-foot spike of creamy white flowers, a rare treat before the rosette fades. Place thoughtfully; spines are sharp, and sap can irritate pets or skin. Deer-resistant and low-maintenance, it’s a showstopper with hybrid vigor.
